Session Guidelines

Everything you need to know before your first Aux Cord Session. Read this once and you're set for life.

What to bring

Your music

Phone, USB, laptop, or external drive

A small tripod (optional)

Capture content of your set

A good attitude

Come to listen, not just to be heard

Your track ready to play

Don't keep the room waiting while you scroll

How sessions run

When the aux cord comes to you, you play one song. After it finishes, the room can share a moment of feedback if you want it, then the aux moves to the next artist. You can introduce yourself first, or just press play. Up to you.

How it works

  • 1. The host calls your name from the sign-in sheet
  • 2. You get the aux (or connect Bluetooth/USB)
  • 3. Play one song
  • 4. Open the floor for feedback if you want it
  • 5. The aux moves to the next artist

The order is determined by the sign-in sheet. First to sign in = first to play. Show up early if you want an early slot.

Feedback

There is no expectation of feedback.Nobody is required to comment on your music. However, we encourage you to ask for it. After your set, a simple "I'd love to hear what you think" opens the floor.

Do

  • Ask if you want feedback
  • Be gracious if you receive it
  • Keep feedback about the music
  • Say "this isn't my vibe" if needed

Don't

  • Make personal attacks
  • Dismiss someone's genre
  • Talk while someone else plays
  • Pressure anyone to comment

Content capture

You may record your own set. Bring a small tripod and capture yourself playing your music in a real studio with real people listening. That's content.

Do not record other artists without their permission. Their unreleased tracks are their intellectual property.

Tag @auxcordpassport and the studio if you post content from the session. We'll repost the best clips.

Code of conduct

  1. 1Listen when others play.
  2. 2Keep feedback constructive.
  3. 3Respect the studio space.
  4. 4Don't record others without permission.
  5. 5No harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks.
  6. 6Show up or cancel. Don't ghost.

Violations may result in your membership being suspended or terminated.

Cancellation

You can cancel your booking from your dashboard (My Sessions tab) at any time before the session. Credits are refunded automatically.

No-shows are noted. If you book and don't show up twice without cancelling, we may limit your ability to book future sessions. Your empty seat could have been someone else's opportunity.
